Transcript [00:00] Well, the administration, you know, one [00:01] thing they pointed to at the time and [00:03] when you were on CNN was when you were [00:05] asked, you know, specifically to condemn [00:07] Hamas. You did not do so. [00:09] >> Why not do so? [00:11] >> Um because they're not interested in my [00:12] views about Hamas. Uh this question is [00:14] being used as as a litmus test. Um as [00:17] >> But what's the litmus test? I guess [00:18] >> the litmus test is basically like why [00:22] would you ask me if I condemn Hamas? [00:24] Don't you ask an American official if [00:26] they condemn the the US government for [00:28] killing over 80 girls in in in Iran or [00:31] any Israeli official uh for their crimes [00:34] in in Gaza? This question is only being [00:36] used to ask Palestinians as as a sort of [00:39] you know if you say yes, just a yes or [00:41] no. It's a black and and and white. Uh [00:43] that's why it's not about refusing to [00:45] condemn Hamas. It's about refusing the [00:47] whole premise of that question. And [00:49] that's why what as a Palestinian I [00:51] refuse. I want to get into the roots [00:53] issues of these of these issues. Uh I'm [00:56] a Palestinian. I believe in a free [00:58] Palestine in a free Palestine where [01:00] every person between the river and the [01:02] sea um regardless of their faith of [01:06] their background lives with dignity with [01:09] freedom uh with justice with equality. [01:12] As simple as that. Um but this this [01:14] administration is trying to dehumanize [01:17] me. Um and these type of questions are [01:19] to me are silly questions. Um they [01:22] wouldn't get us anywhere.
No, Mahmoud Khalil, asking whether you condemn Hamas is NOT a “silly question.”
Hamas raped, tortured, murdered, kidnapped, and burned alive innocent people on October 7, 2023.
If you cannot bring yourself to condemn those who perpetrated the October 7 massacre, why should anyone believe your vision of a “Free Palestine” includes Jews living alongside Palestinians in peace?
