Transcript [00:00] and Swan. [00:00] >> Oh yeah, I did the Swan. Yeah, [00:02] >> that made me laugh. What made me laugh [00:04] so much? I mean, it was [00:06] >> incredibly radical. It was like uh like [00:09] at that time the I think the biggest [00:11] show up until I saw that time was [00:12] Extreme Makeover Home Edition, right? [00:15] >> And then I thought that this was [00:17] basically Extreme Makeover human [00:19] edition. That's exactly right. and and [00:22] these people and it was many surgeries [00:25] and diets and workout like you changed [00:27] their whole life their face their mouth [00:29] their dental their hair everything and [00:32] it always [00:33] >> in a beauty pageant [00:35] >> and they but and they didn't get to see [00:37] themselves [00:37] >> for three months [00:39] >> for three months. No the show. Do you [00:40] know the show? [00:41] >> I do know the show and I also remember [00:43] what he's going to say and why he loved [00:45] it and he would always make me watch [00:47] this particular part of the show. [00:48] >> The reveal. The reveal. their reveal in [00:51] front of the mirror. [00:52] >> He loved that they were like, "I'm [00:54] beautiful." [laughter] [00:56] >> Except, [00:56] >> I am gorgeous. [00:57] >> Except a couple times, all right, truth [01:00] be told, now that it's 23 years later, [01:03] they would be in front of the mirror all [01:06] made up and the cameras would be ready [01:09] and action and they'd open up the [01:11] curtain and they'd see themselves and [01:13] go, "Huh? [laughter] [01:16] Cut. [01:18] do that again with some enthusiasm and [01:21] they open again. They go and they go [01:24] they start to notice things and we're [01:26] sitting there was two surgeons, me and [01:28] other were sitting back there going, "Oh [01:30] gosh, does she hate it?" You know, cuz [01:32] they didn't see themselves for 3 months. [01:34] We were freaking out cuz what if they [01:36] went, [01:37] >> "H, it's terrible." You know, [01:40] >> so that was the show. But so ultimately [01:42] they got the right cut where they would [01:44] go, "Oh, I love it. Is that good? Can I [01:47] can I go on now? Well, that maybe that's [01:49] why it seems so funny to me because it [01:51] was so [01:52] >> even if you Well, yeah, because you [01:54] don't even if you like even if you come [01:56] home with a really good haircut or you [01:58] like something, you're you're in a in a [02:00] in a showroom and you try on some [02:02] clothes, nobody exudes in in front of a [02:06] mirror. I look amazing. [laughter] Like, [02:09] it just doesn't happen. I know. Plus, I [02:12] sometimes do that when I'm shopping and [02:14] I'll just scream that out when I look at [02:16] I look at myself in the mirror and I'll [02:17] say it and just watch people behind me. [02:19] >> Plus the hair and makeup. Remember how [02:20] extreme that was? They put them they [02:22] made them look like they were in drag. [02:23] >> Yes. So, but what do like how did you [02:26] decide they It was kind of like a [02:29] surprise party on somebody's face. Yeah. [02:31] >> Like they're not even inv I feel like [02:34] watching botched and watching and [02:36] knowing what you do. It seems like the [02:38] the patient is part of the process. [02:41] Like, do what do you want? I'm just [02:42] going to raise this like an inch and I'm [02:44] just going to But they didn't seem to be [02:46] part of the process. [02:47] >> That's the way it was portrayed. But [02:48] truth be told, we went into it, you [02:51] know, I was only 3 years out of my [02:53] training. [02:54] >> Good. They got a new plastic surgeon. [02:56] Sure. [laughter] Good. [02:56] >> And I know we were we were good though. [02:59] But, you know, I was [03:00] >> not as good as now. [03:01] >> No, not even close. [laughter] [03:03] But it was easy surgery. The surgery I [03:05] do now is really difficult. But so they [03:08] wanted to be extreme and they would push [03:10] them to have more and try to push us to [03:12] do more. But at the end of the day, I'd [03:15] always sit them down and go, "Listen, [03:17] anything you don't want to do, do not do [03:19] it. And I don't really want to do [03:21] anything extreme on you. So let's just [03:24] go with a lighter hand." And there were [03:27] a couple they kicked off the show [03:29] because they didn't want to do enough [03:30] that you never saw, you know? So, I was [03:34] very Look, that was the most controvers [03:36] If you look up on the internet top 10 [03:40] most controversial reality shows of all [03:42] time. I'd be interested to see if you [03:44] can do that. Let's see what happens. [03:46] >> Top 10. I did two of them. [03:48] >> You're on two of them? [03:50] >> Yes. One was called The Swan. The other [03:53] was called Bridal Plasty. Bridal Plasty? [03:56] >> I do not remember. [03:57] >> I don't know. Bridal plasty. [03:58] >> One season
