[00:00]
the speaker of the house, the United
[00:02]
States of America and our own
[00:03]
Congressman Mike Johnson joins us joins
[00:05]
it. Mr. Speaker, good morning.
[00:09]
>> Moon, great to hear your voice, my
[00:10]
friend. Great to talk to you.
[00:12]
>> So, I want you to sum up where elections
[00:14]
are. You know, we hear things, we see
[00:16]
things. I would think you'd have a
[00:18]
better grip of reality on the ground
[00:20]
because you are in other states. We we
[00:22]
kind of know where most of our elections
[00:24]
will probably fall here, but what about
[00:26]
in these other states? How concerned are
[00:28]
you and kind of break it down for us.
[00:31]
>> Moon, I am very bullish on the midterm
[00:34]
election and I'll give you my bird's
[00:35]
eyee report. We're leaving it all on the
[00:38]
field to defy history. As you and I have
[00:40]
discussed, it's only happened twice in
[00:41]
90 years that a sitting president has
[00:43]
picked up seats for his party in that
[00:45]
first two-year midterm cycle after he's
[00:48]
elected. A lot of reasons for that, of
[00:49]
course. You know, when a president gets
[00:51]
uh elected, wins the White House, the
[00:53]
other team's upset. So they send out all
[00:54]
the grassroots and they take House seats
[00:57]
away from that president just two years
[00:58]
later. That's not going to happen this
[01:00]
year. Moon, we are going to keep our our
[01:02]
majority for the Republicans in the
[01:04]
House and the Senate. And I'm going to
[01:06]
tell everybody, listen to what I'm
[01:08]
saying. You can ignore most of the polls
[01:10]
out there. They are wildly inaccurate.
[01:12]
In fact, just in the last uh 10 days or
[01:15]
so, Moon, many of the polling
[01:17]
organizations have been forced to admit
[01:18]
that they are oversampling Democrats
[01:21]
nationwide and under sampling
[01:22]
Republicans because hey, news flash,
[01:25]
Republicans don't like answering polls.
[01:27]
They don't participate much anymore.
[01:29]
They don't trust them, you know, and so
[01:31]
uh they're they're undersampling, which
[01:33]
means that when you see a poll, you can
[01:35]
add several percentage points to the
[01:37]
reality of that at least. All right, but
[01:39]
let me tell you what's happening. I'm
[01:40]
I'm I'm in the middle of a six week
[01:42]
swing. I'm in Louisiana today. I'm going
[01:43]
to a couple football games uh here in
[01:45]
the district tonight, but I'm getting
[01:47]
right back on the road. I'm 6 weeks on
[01:49]
the field. I'm going to go to 40
[01:50]
districts in 22 states between now and
[01:53]
the election 32 days from today. Moon
[01:55]
and we're going to make history. We're
[01:57]
going to defy history. Republicans are
[01:58]
going to hold it.
[01:59]
>> Mike, you know, one of the one of the
[02:00]
things that uh Mr. Speaker, one of the
[02:03]
things that I was concerned about when I
[02:05]
see Teler, now this is not the this is
[02:07]
the Senate, but I'm going to just throw
[02:08]
it at you. When I see him up in a red
[02:10]
state like Texas, it's hard for me to
[02:12]
believe the polls. I just don't think
[02:14]
the people in Texas, when you look at
[02:15]
the candidates, and you got a lot of
[02:17]
them on the House side, too, that are so
[02:19]
radical left, they anti-American, anti-
[02:21]
good, they're anti-Christian. And and so
[02:24]
I look at a poll like that, I go, you've
[02:25]
got to be joking. What is happen in
[02:27]
people's minds?
[02:30]
>> Well, you said it. Well, look, this is a
[02:32]
contrast election year, a contrast for
[02:34]
America between common sense and crazy.
[02:37]
You look at a state like Texas, you
[02:38]
know, our neighbor to the west. I just
[02:40]
think it's impossible to conceive that
[02:42]
they would elect a guy like Taller Rico.
[02:45]
I mean, he is a wild crazy far-left. His
[02:48]
views, he looks innocuous and and calm
[02:51]
and and uh and reasonable. He is the
[02:53]
opposite. Listen to what the guy has
[02:55]
said. Look at what he has done. You you
[02:57]
got to look at the record and not the
[02:59]
rhetoric in a campaign. And this really
[03:02]
is a battle against crazy and
[03:04]
communists. Look, the barbarians are
[03:05]
inside the gate. By my count, Moon,
[03:08]
between 38 and 40 openly avowed Marxist,
[03:11]
socialist communists have won Democrat
[03:14]
primaries around the country. Even for
[03:16]
in in in Senate races like like in Texas
[03:18]
and Michigan with Alied and others. Um
[03:21]
the the the US um the United States is
[03:24]
facing a serious challenge because the
[03:26]
far-left is consuming the insurgent left
[03:29]
is consuming the Democratic party that
[03:32]
we all used to remember and that we knew
[03:33]
when we were growing up. It doesn't
[03:35]
exist anymore. Moon, uh the barbarians
[03:37]
are inside the gate. The US, the the
[03:39]
Democrat Socialist of America, the DSA,
[03:41]
okay, that's the new voice of the
[03:42]
Democrat party. They're the ones where
[03:44]
they have all the energy, the
[03:45]
excitement, the grassroots, the money,
[03:47]
and they're pushing their agenda and
[03:48]
they published it. They want to abolish
[03:50]
the border, abolish uh prisons, you
[03:53]
know, defund the police, defund the
[03:55]
Department of War. They want mass
[03:56]
amnesty for everybody, shred the
[03:58]
Constitution, pack the Supreme Court,
[04:00]
take away private property ownership. It
[04:02]
it's just completely anti-American. And
[04:05]
yes, always remember this. Marxism and
[04:08]
socialism, you know, socialism and
[04:10]
communism by Karl Marx were used terms
[04:13]
used interchangeably. Okay, sure. He
[04:15]
thought socialism was a step to get to
[04:17]
communism which they believed was utopia
[04:20]
or the perfect society. It's a dangerous
[04:22]
deadly fool's eron because it begins
[04:23]
with the premise moon that there is no
[04:26]
god. We are one nation under god and
[04:28]
that is why we've always been
[04:29]
distinguished from the communists. We
[04:31]
cannot allow these people to take over
[04:32]
the congress.
[04:33]
>> Yeah. No, but but Mike, are we grabbing
[04:35]
the attentions of the American people?
[04:36]
Cuz I find American people or or lack of
[04:40]
days ago and understanding how bad this
[04:42]
could get if these people continue to
[04:44]
grow. Look, the we have nobody in the
[04:47]
national media, the national media who
[04:50]
has the freedom of the press. First
[04:51]
amendment right is the most abused
[04:53]
amendment of all. They're not even
[04:55]
challenging these people. They're not
[04:57]
challenging to protect our republic.
[04:59]
They're not challenging them on basis on
[05:01]
anything that they've done in the past
[05:03]
and other countries have all failed. Why
[05:05]
is the media not even stopping or
[05:08]
talking to them about this or writing
[05:09]
things about them or challenging them at
[05:11]
all?
[05:13]
>> Well, the media has always been on the
[05:15]
side, you know, for most of our adult
[05:16]
lives, they've just been openly biased
[05:18]
for the for the Democrats, for the left.
[05:20]
Now, many of them are alarmed by what
[05:22]
you and I are alarmed by as well. They
[05:25]
can't believe that these radical
[05:26]
far-left crazies are taking over the
[05:28]
party, but they're they're unwilling to
[05:30]
say it on the air because they're so uh
[05:32]
deeply rooted with the other side and
[05:34]
they have Trump derangement syndrome as
[05:36]
you both you and I both know. They can't
[05:38]
stand Republicans and they're trying to
[05:40]
bury the record. Look, everybody
[05:42]
understands the stakes of this election,
[05:44]
but even with our razor thin majority in
[05:47]
the the House and Senate, with the
[05:48]
Republican majority and President Trump
[05:50]
in the White House, even with Democrats
[05:52]
being totally obstructionist, they shut
[05:53]
down the government for a record 120
[05:56]
days just in the last uh 20 months.
[05:59]
Okay, even with all that, Moon,
[06:01]
Republicans have delivered common sense
[06:03]
wins for the people. We we had the
[06:05]
largest middle and working class tax cut
[06:07]
ever, $4.6 trillion tax cut. We gave
[06:11]
$1.6 trillion in spending rooting out
[06:14]
fraud in the government. We have the
[06:15]
lowest violent crime rate in 126 years
[06:18]
nationwide right now. We have the lowest
[06:19]
level illeg illegal border crossings in
[06:22]
a half century. We haven't had a single
[06:24]
illegal alien released into the country
[06:25]
in 16 straight months. They gave Trump
[06:28]
accounts for every child. We got the
[06:30]
first ever nationwide school choice
[06:31]
program codified. The biggest drop in
[06:34]
prescription drug prices in 60 years. We
[06:36]
got companies bringing manufacturing
[06:38]
back to America. We've added 1 million
[06:40]
private sector jobs, wages going up,
[06:42]
small business owners being able to
[06:44]
write off their capital expenditures to
[06:45]
expand and grow and add new jobs and
[06:48]
more opportunity for more people. Um,
[06:49]
we're right on the verge of the economy
[06:51]
taking off like a rocket. Gas prices are
[06:53]
too high. Of course, that's related to
[06:55]
the trade of Hamus and we're about to
[06:57]
turn a corner on that after we took out
[07:00]
the nuclear capability of Iran. Gas
[07:02]
prices have taken a hit, but we're about
[07:04]
to turn the corner on that. You you
[07:06]
can't people understand you can't turn
[07:07]
the government back over to the crazy
[07:09]
Democrats who want to ban oil and gas.
[07:12]
They want to ban fossil fuels. What
[07:13]
would that do for your gas prices? Think
[07:16]
you have to you have to ask one question
[07:18]
at the end of the day to vote in this
[07:19]
midterm again 32 days from today. What
[07:22]
which team has the best policies for you
[07:25]
and your family, for your aging parents,
[07:28]
for your children coming behind you?
[07:29]
Who's going to who's going to give you
[07:31]
lower taxes? Who's going to give you
[07:33]
less regulation so you can expand your
[07:35]
business? Who's going to keep you safer?
[07:37]
Who's going to fund the military? It's
[07:39]
the Republican party, not these crazy
[07:41]
Democrats.
[07:41]
>> Let me let me ask the big qu the big
[07:43]
question cuz I I don't see a lot of
[07:44]
enthusiasm here to even go vote. I don't
[07:47]
know why, but for whatever reason. My
[07:49]
question is in these swing states and
[07:51]
places that you're going, is there a lot
[07:54]
more enthusiasm? Is there a lot more
[07:56]
enthusiasm for Republican? Because my
[07:58]
fear, let me give you my fear. My fear
[08:00]
is the Trump voter will stay home. They
[08:02]
won't go vote for the Democrat, but
[08:04]
they'll stay home, which is just like
[08:05]
voting for the Democrat. Are you seeing
[08:06]
that anywhere else in the country in
[08:09]
these states where people have to go
[08:10]
vote?
[08:12]
>> Moon, I'm actually seeing the opposite.
[08:14]
Okay, let me let me explain what what
[08:16]
I'm telling you.
[08:16]
>> Please do cuz I want to be excited.
[08:18]
[laughter]
[08:19]
>> Yeah. No, I'm going to give you the
[08:20]
reason for hope. Okay. We look, we've
[08:22]
always known for the House, okay? We've
[08:24]
always known that keeping the majority
[08:26]
is going to come down to the outcome of
[08:28]
roughly two dozen seats around the
[08:29]
country. 22 toss-ups. Okay. Now, here's
[08:32]
the encouraging things. President Trump
[08:34]
won 21 of those 22 seats that all the
[08:38]
pollsters say is going to decide it.
[08:40]
Those are those are districts we can
[08:42]
win. But to your point, we got to get
[08:43]
the turnout. I talked to the president
[08:45]
last night, most recently late last
[08:47]
night, and he said, "Mike, I'm going to
[08:48]
go everywhere." He's going everywhere,
[08:49]
Moon. He's going to be on the road just
[08:51]
like I am for the next 30 something
[08:53]
days. and he and I have shared our
[08:54]
calendars. We're criss-crossing the
[08:56]
country. We may be in the same city once
[08:57]
or twice at the same time. Um I mean, I
[09:00]
I'll be doing, you know, like a hundred
[09:01]
campaign events uh in the next 30 days.
[09:03]
I mean, like 80 cities or something like
[09:05]
that. Um he's doing the same thing.
[09:07]
You've never seen a second term
[09:08]
president out running like he's a
[09:09]
candidate because of course after your
[09:11]
second term as president, you're done in
[09:13]
politics. But he's doing it because he
[09:15]
knows the stakes are high and we have to
[09:17]
turn out the base. Now, here's the
[09:18]
exciting thing for me. I'm seeing huge
[09:21]
crowds. I was in California two days
[09:22]
ago. Moon, in California, up and down
[09:25]
the Central Valley. California is a blue
[09:26]
state. Around the country, people have a
[09:28]
sense that we've lost the battle out
[09:30]
there. Moon, on a Wednesday morning at
[09:32]
10:00 a.m., we had 350 people turn out
[09:34]
to an airplane hanger uh waving signs
[09:37]
for our House candidate out there to
[09:38]
flip a Lucy to red. Then I went about 2
[09:41]
hours south and it's still in the
[09:42]
central valley of California. 250 people
[09:44]
showed up to this little office office
[09:46]
plaza like it was a Saturday night in
[09:48]
Tiger Stadium, dude. I mean, they're
[09:49]
fired up. They're not throwing in the
[09:51]
white towel.
[09:52]
>> We're going to win those seats in
[09:53]
California, New York, across the map.
[09:55]
But turnout's going to matter. Two
[09:57]
things to remember, okay? The the main
[09:59]
motivating factor in a midterm election
[10:01]
usually in history is anger. Remember,
[10:04]
the party out of power is angry. They
[10:05]
turn out the base. But the other
[10:07]
motivating factor, Moon, is fear. And we
[10:10]
have a legitimate fear of the rise of
[10:12]
Marxism and communism in America. We
[10:14]
must defeat it so we can keep the
[10:16]
greatest nation in the history of the
[10:17]
world.
[10:17]
>> Yeah. It's it's just I want to see more
[10:20]
enthusiasm. I I I watch it, but I'm not
[10:23]
I'm not actually in the states. You are.
[10:26]
And that's why I thought it was a great
[10:28]
question to find out what's what's going
[10:30]
on because in our in our state, uh I
[10:33]
think most of the outcomes already done
[10:34]
except for a couple districts and they
[10:36]
going to be Republicans. But in these
[10:37]
other states where you got the tossup
[10:38]
stuff, that's why it makes a difference.
[10:40]
And the last thing, the press has
[10:41]
already twisted Trump working, saying
[10:43]
he's just trying to save his base. And
[10:45]
they've never seen that before cuz
[10:47]
Trump's in trouble and the Republicans
[10:48]
in trouble. That's how the media
[10:49]
spinning it.
[10:51]
>> Yeah. Well, President Trump cares about
[10:53]
his country. He knows these radical
[10:55]
insurgent leftists are trying to take
[10:56]
over the, you know, the the Congress so
[10:58]
they can take over the means of
[10:59]
production and just and take away your
[11:01]
small business and your private property
[11:03]
and your freedom. That's what that's
[11:04]
where communism leads. In fact, we
[11:06]
started a website contrast foramea.com
[11:09]
where we outline the actual history of
[11:11]
communism every time it's been tried and
[11:13]
the you know since its inception every
[11:15]
time from from uh from from communist
[11:18]
Russia uh the the USSR to the you know
[11:22]
modern day Venezuela it always leads to
[11:24]
poverties suffering famine you know and
[11:26]
death I mean tens of millions of people
[11:28]
have been murdered in the 20th century
[11:30]
alone because of the communists. That's
[11:31]
what's motivating President Trump. I
[11:33]
want to say this. You just said
[11:34]
something really important in Louisiana.
[11:37]
H yawn, you know, we Republicans will
[11:39]
win. We don't really need a vote.
[11:41]
>> You have to vote. You cannot take this
[11:43]
for granted. I'm telling you, everybody
[11:45]
needs to make sure you're registered.
[11:48]
You can vote early in Louisiana by mail
[11:49]
if you need to and go out on election
[11:51]
day. This is a big one. We have to we
[11:54]
have to make sure the numbers are there
[11:55]
because the Democrats are running this
[11:57]
this sinister kind of ground game and
[11:59]
they're counting on Republicans just
[12:01]
rolling their eyes and assuming we're
[12:02]
going to win. We got to run the score up
[12:04]
because we got to send a message to the
[12:06]
Marxist. They're not going to take this
[12:08]
country from us.
[12:08]
>> Yeah, great point. But I'm telling
[12:09]
people in Louisiana, please go vote. His
[12:11]
name is Mike Johnson. He's Congressman
[12:13]
Mike Johnson. He's the speaker of the
[12:14]
house in United States of America. All
[12:16]
right, Congressman, we'll let you go.
[12:17]
God bless. Thank you for spending a few
[12:18]
minutes with us.
[12:20]
>> You too, my friend. Great talking to
[12:21]
you. Cowboy.
