Transcript [00:00] What has transpired in Gaza is genocide. [00:03] We reject Israeli aggressions which [00:06] undermines peace and security. [00:07] >> Religious hatred must have no place in [00:11] this world. [00:12] >> We seek a [music] democratic Palestinian [00:15] state that respects the rule of law and [00:17] human rights. [00:19] >> Lasting peace in West Asia is impossible [00:22] without [music] justice for Palestine. [00:24] As long as occupation, aggression and [00:27] injustice persist in the world, [00:29] resistance will continue. [00:31] >> Now, we will proceed with the list of [00:34] speakers for non-governmental [00:35] organizations. [00:36] >> As a Muslim, I listened carefully as [00:38] Muslim countries lectured on human [00:40] rights, and I have a few questions for [00:42] them. I asked the Islamic Republic of [00:44] Iran, "If you care about injustice, why [00:47] did you open fire on Iranian protesters, [00:50] massacring tens of thousands of people [00:52] who called for freedom?" Atar, if you [00:56] care about genocide, why did you harbor [00:58] and fund the Hamas terrorists who [01:00] actually attempted genocide on October [01:02] 7th? Syria, if you care about peace and [01:05] security, why are you slaughtering your [01:06] Alawites and Jews and other minorities? [01:10] Pakistan, if you care about religious [01:12] freedom, why did you sentence a [01:14] Christian woman to death Shagufta Kiran [01:17] for allegedly sharing a WhatsApp message [01:19] about the age issue in Islamic marriage? [01:22] And Mahmud Abbas, if you seek a [01:24] democratic Palestinian state, why are [01:26] you now in the 22nd year of your 4-year [01:30] term? Mr. President, Israel did not deny [01:33] Iranians their freedom. Israel did not [01:36] slaughter Syria's minorities. Israel did [01:39] not cause Abbas to rule as an unelected [01:41] president for life. These governments [01:44] did that to their own people. Yet in [01:47] this hall, they point their fingers at [01:49] Israel and demand that we look away. I [01:52] grew up in Yemen. I know how our Arab [01:55] leaders teach us to blame all of our [01:57] problems on Jews and Israel. But our [01:59] problem in the Middle East is neither [02:01] Israel nor the Jews. It is the Islamist [02:04] dictatorships that brutalize our people, [02:06] [music] [02:07] then offer us Israel as a scapegoat.
As world leaders used the UN podium to condemn Israel, UN Watch invited courageous Yemeni journalist Luai Ahmed to tell the truth: “Our problem in the Middle East is neither Israel nor the Jews. It is the Islamist dictatorships.”
