[61:21] Your servant has killed both the lion [61:23] and the bear. [61:25] I want you to listen carefully to this [61:27] passage. If you're privy to the David [61:29] and Goliath story, lift up one hand. If [61:31] you've heard it before, if you've never [61:33] heard of David or Goliath, lift up both [61:36] hands. [61:37] Good. You all know the story. This is a [61:40] story about a shepherd boy who was in [61:43] the field. And this shepherd boy, God [61:46] called him out. When his father ignored [61:49] him and did not consider him to be [61:52] qualified, God saw this shepherd boy in [61:56] the field. He saw him. Please, I need [61:58] you to know that God sees you. [62:00] >> You may be in the field. You may be [62:02] working hard. You may be in a place [62:04] where you receive zero recognition. You [62:08] need to be aware that God sees you. And [62:11] the same God who sees you in the field [62:13] is about to promote you and take you to [62:15] a place where through your life his name [62:18] will be exalted and he will become even [62:20] more famous. Anybody come in agreement [62:21] of that? [62:23] How many in this auditorium believe, no [62:25] joke, no hype, not wishful thinking, [62:28] that because of Jesus, you're going from [62:30] glory to glory? [62:32] >> About 70% of you believe it. How many [62:35] believe that you and your family are [62:37] going from glory to glory? [62:41] And how many believe that the glory to [62:43] glory is not just when you die in his [62:45] presence. That on this side of eternity, [62:48] you're going to go from glory to glory [62:50] to glory to glory to glory. Does anybody [62:53] here believe that before this year is [62:55] over, you'll be at a higher level of [62:56] glory than you were the previous year. [63:00] >> So God shows up. You're the counselor of [63:02] the prophet, the prophet of a wonderful [63:04] name. His name is Samuel. And he shows [63:07] up with Samuel and he shows up and tells [63:10] him anoint this man, this young man. [63:12] Young man who works in the field. So he [63:15] anoints him to do what? To be the next [63:17] king. The king of Israel was a guy named [63:20] Saul. Saul was a narcissist. He was [63:23] self-absorbed. It was all about him. He [63:25] was full of pride to such a degree that [63:28] the Holy Spirit departed from Saul [63:31] because Saul made it all about him. He [63:33] wanted the glory. He wanted the praise. [63:36] I need you and I to live the kind of [63:37] life that the only one who ever gets the [63:40] glory is Jesus. [63:44] Three of you clap. The rest of you are [63:46] are concerning me. The only one that [63:48] gets the glory is Jesus. [63:54] I'm going to say it. God's going to [63:55] bless you like never before. God's going [63:58] to heal all of you. He's going to save [64:01] your entire family. He's going to get [64:04] you out of debt and take you to a place [64:06] where you become the greatest blessing [64:08] to everyone. God's going to But when he [64:11] does it, don't think it was you. When he [64:13] does it, don't give yourself. When he [64:16] does it, matter of fact, even before he [64:18] does it, give him the glory cuz he [64:20] deserves all of the glory. [64:25] So Saul wanted the glory. God said, "No, [64:28] that's mine." [64:30] So he took his Holy Spirit away from [64:32] him. Wow. It's tragic. Horrific. Tragic [64:35] Holy Spirit departed. So now we have God [64:38] telling the prophet Samuel, [64:41] brand new king. Let's get a new king. [64:44] And that's David. So he anoints David as [64:47] the new king. But hey, there's already a [64:49] king still alive. Got wait your time. [64:51] All right, we got this. So he's a king. [64:53] All right, got done. This is what David [64:55] does. David is now anointed to be king. [64:59] Anointed. He's not functioning in the [65:00] office yet, but he's anointed. The [65:03] anointing. The anointing. The anointing. [65:05] So, he's anointed to be king. And all of [65:07] a sudden, this is what he does. Let's [65:08] read it. Your servant. Now, watch this. [65:12] He's anointed to be king, but he stops [65:14] by Panera. I made that part up. [65:18] What he did do was he picked up what [65:20] kind of sandwiches? [65:22] >> Cheese sandwiches. Read it. It's in the [65:23] book. Cheese. Grilled cheese. Y'all [65:26] think cheese sandwiches. That was David. [65:29] Every time you eat a cheese sandwich [65:30] now, David. David. So, he picks up what [65:34] kind of sandwiches? [65:36] >> Cheese sandwiches. He picks up cheese [65:38] sandwiches. He takes all these [65:40] sandwiches. He goes, But watch this. [65:42] He's anointed to be what? [65:45] >> But he, this is what he does. Picks up [65:47] cheese sandwiches. He goes, "I'm going [65:48] to go serve my brothers." [65:52] >> Because you're anointed to serve before [65:54] you're anointed to lead. [66:00] Don't ever try to be king of anything [66:02] unless you serve those around you first. [66:05] >> Oh, y'all didn't get that. Y Before you [66:07] were like, now you're like, one more [66:09] time. There are people that won the [66:11] title without ever serving. There are [66:13] people that won the accolades without [66:14] ever serving. There are people that won [66:16] all the grandeur without ever serving. [66:18] You were anointed to serve before you're [66:20] anointed to leave. So, if you've never [66:22] served, don't attempt to leave. But if [66:24] you've been serving for a long time, get [66:26] ready for God to put you in a place of [66:28] influence for you to impact your [66:30] generation. [66:32] All right? So, I'm going to get there. [66:34] So, he he has his sandwiches. I wish I I [66:36] wish I had cheese sandwiches right now [66:37] to illustrate this. So, he had his [66:39] sandwiches. So, he comes out. I'm going [66:40] to serve my brothers. Where are my [66:42] brothers at? Oh, they're in the [66:44] battlefield. Battlefield? Let me find [66:46] them. So, he arrives in this place. And [66:49] in this place, he finds the following. [66:51] His brothers are here in the army going [66:54] like this [66:58] and he's going, "What in the world's [67:00] happening?" Over here is the king of [67:02] Israel, the Mac Daddy M. And he's like, [67:08] so he's going, "What in the world?" And [67:10] then there was a giant. His name was [67:13] Goliath. And Goliath is here. And [67:17] Goliath is cursing them. Goliath is [67:20] saying, "You're nothing. your dogs. You [67:23] are absolutely nothing. This is this is [67:26] a joke in front of me. You guys can now [67:28] that he used more the Hebrew exeetical [67:31] passage. He was cursing them. The Bible [67:33] says so I can't repeat what Goliath [67:36] said. At least not on this stage. I'm [67:38] kidding. I just can't repeat it. So he's [67:41] cursing them off right. So he's [67:43] basically just dropping different about [67:46] them right here. But and David's going [67:48] like, "What is this?" like what's going [67:50] on? David never heard that. So, he's [67:52] going like, "Who is this guy doing [67:54] this?" And they're all trembling. And [67:56] then Goliath goes beyond that. I'm not [67:59] only going to curse you, I'm going to [68:01] curse your God. [68:04] >> Let me tell you about your blank blank [68:06] blank blank blank God. [68:09] >> Stop. Here's David carrying what kind of [68:11] sandwiches? [68:12] >> So, there's a guy carrying Jesus who's [68:14] anointed to be what? So, he's carrying, [68:18] >> but he's anointed to be. [68:20] >> Don't ever disconnect the cheese [68:22] sandwiches from your calling and your [68:23] title and your anointing, by the way. [68:25] So, he comes here and he hears this guy [68:28] saying this. His brothers are trembling. [68:31] The king is doing nothing. So, he shows [68:34] up and says, "Wait a nope. He's not [68:38] famous. This guy's not like no." He [68:40] comes in and he goes like, "Whoa, whoa, [68:42] whoa, whoa, whoa. What is this? So he [68:46] looks at the king and his brothers and [68:48] says, "Are you guys kidding me? You're [68:51] tolerating him saying this about our [68:55] God? [68:56] >> If you're not going to do anything about [68:58] it, I am. [69:00] >> There comes a season where you're not [69:02] driven by the majority. There comes a [69:04] season where you become the prophetic [69:06] minority. [69:07] >> There comes a season where you may be [69:08] the only one standing up and standing [69:10] out for truth. When everyone else is [69:12] silent because of fear, you need to be [69:14] the one full of righteous indignation to [69:17] stand up and say, "No." As for me, in my [69:19] house, we're going to think we're going [69:22] to do some things different. Anybody [69:23] here know what I'm talking about? [69:25] Sometimes you got to stand up for Jesus [69:27] in such a way it may cost you some [69:29] followers. It may cost you some people [69:31] in your circle of friends. Some people [69:33] may unfollow you. Some may block you. [69:36] Some may not respond to your DM. Some [69:39] may block you from texting you. But [69:41] praise be the Lord. I am not ashamed of [69:44] the gospel for it is the power of God. [69:47] Anybody here not ashamed of Jesus that [69:49] you're willing [69:51] I'm going to ask this. Is anybody here [69:54] so unashamed of Jesus that you're [69:56] willing to lose it all as long as you [69:58] don't lose him? [70:03] Let me ask that one more time. Is [70:06] anybody here so in love with Jesus that [70:08] you're willing to lose everything as [70:11] long as you never lose him? [70:17] So he shows up. So he shows up and he [70:19] goes, "Stop. This guy can't get away [70:21] with that. I'm going to do I'm going to [70:23] do something about it. I'm going to do [70:25] something about it." And they all looked [70:26] at him. Saul the king looked at him 1st [70:29] Samuel 17:33 and he says, "Don't be a [70:31] fool. Don't be ridiculous." Hebrew word. [70:35] You're never going to be able to defeat [70:37] that. Are you kidding me? Right. Goliath [70:41] heard him and went like, [70:46] "You got to be Is this a joke, guys? Is [70:49] this kid actually?" His brothers told [70:52] him, "Shut up. [70:54] Shut up. He's going to get mad. You You [70:58] can't do this." And then his brothers [70:59] doubled down and went like, "You've [71:01] never fought anything. [71:03] you don't even qualify. [71:06] >> And this is his response. [71:11] >> He never said you're future king. [71:18] >> He never used his title in order to [71:22] accomplish his purpose. [71:24] >> He used his testimony. [71:32] What grants you access to your next [71:34] season is not your title. It's your [71:37] testimony. [71:39] >> No, you missed it. Some of you have been [71:42] waiting for a bigger title, a new title. [71:45] In order to do greater things in the [71:47] kingdom of heaven, it's not about the [71:49] title, it's about the testimony. I'm [71:52] here to tell you, get ready because your [71:55] testimony is about to open doors in your [71:57] favor like it has never opened before. [72:00] No, you're not getting that. What Jesus [72:02] has already done in you, with you, for [72:04] you, and through you will elevate you to [72:07] a place that no title would ever give [72:09] you access to. Your testimony is about [72:12] to provoke God to provide you a platform [72:16] for his name to be more known through [72:19] you than ever before. Stop for a second. [72:21] Watch this. He says, "Your servant [72:24] with your servant has killed both the [72:27] what?" [72:29] >> Watch this. You've never fought [72:30] anything. And he look I need a bear and [72:32] I need a lion. There are people that [74:41] want to address some big giants that are [74:43] in their generation and in their family [74:45] and in their culture and community [74:47] without dealing with the private bear [74:48] and the private lion. What you defeat in [74:51] private will determine what you overcome [74:53] in public. Oh man, did you get this? [74:56] What you What you defeat in private will [74:59] determine what you overcome in public. [75:01] Your private battle will result in a [75:03] public reward. Don't you try to fight [75:05] Goliath if you still have some bears and [75:08] lions in your life. You have to overcome [75:10] the bear. You have to overcome the lion. [75:13] You got to overcome. There are private [75:15] battles that will facilitate a public [75:18] platform. So if you've never had any [75:21] private battles, this sermon is not for [75:23] you. He's This is what he's saying. [75:26] Watch this. He's saying this. [75:30] I fought some things in private. [75:33] You never saw them [75:35] >> cuz you weren't there. You didn't need [75:38] to be there. I fought the bear. I fought [75:41] the lion. I killed both the lion and the [75:43] bear. There are things I fought in [75:45] private. You weren't there when God was [75:47] there. God witnessed me defeating the [75:51] lion and the bear. There are things you [75:53] have fought in private. There are even [75:55] some battles people closest to you are [75:58] not even aware of. You've had some [76:00] battles here that people are not even [76:03] aware of. But I need you to put a smile [76:05] on your face because if you defeated the [76:08] lion and you defeated the bear, there's [76:11] no Goliath that can stand in your way. [76:14] I'm prophesying to somebody right now. Because if you fought and [79:32] you're still standing, do you know why [79:34] you're still standing? Because greater [79:39] greater [79:41] that is in you than he that is in the [79:46] world. Somebody give him glory. Like a [79:48] lion is about to come down. [79:55] This is the problem. [79:58] We have people [80:01] that go like this. They go from [80:05] I'm a Christian. I just convert. I come [80:08] to Christ. And you're vertically saved. [80:12] But then what you don't understand is [80:13] that now that you're saved, you walk in [80:15] freedom. But you have the ability, the [80:17] wherewithal, the acumen, the fortitude, [80:20] the finished work of Christ to confront [80:22] the bear and the lion in Jesus, with [80:25] Jesus, for Jesus, through Jesus, not [80:26] through your own strength.
