[57:25] We have been blessed uh with this new [57:27] series that Pastor Sam has been speaking [57:29] about, Goliath, and talking about us not [57:32] giving up, about us knowing what God has [57:35] placed in our hands to be able to fight. [57:39] So today, I just want to speak with you [57:41] very shortly under the theme, I'm still [57:44] standing. Tell your neighbor, "I'm still [57:46] standing." And why are you still [57:48] standing? Why are you still standing? [57:50] Because he is faithful. Why am I still [57:53] standing? Because he is faithful. [57:56] First Samuel 17 and 37 quickly it says, [57:59] "The Lord," I love it because uh um [58:02] Samuel Dav recognized that all he [58:06] accomplished, it wasn't because of who [58:08] he was. It wasn't because of his last [58:11] name. It wasn't because of what he [58:13] accomplished. It was because the Lord [58:15] was with him. Because the Lord saved [58:18] him. It says, "The Lord who rescued me [58:21] from the paw of the lion and the paw of [58:23] the bear will rescue me." He had an [58:27] assurance. He had a security. He knew [58:29] that. He knew that. He knew that God was [58:32] going to show up and was going to rescue [58:34] him from the hand of this Philistine. [58:37] Tonight, I don't know, maybe you walked [58:39] into this room carrying a battle that [58:42] nobody knows about. People see you [58:44] worship, but they don't know what it [58:47] took for you to get here. They are [58:50] seeing you serving, but they DON'T KNOW [58:53] THE QUESTIONS THAT YOU'VE BEEN BRINGING [58:55] before the Lord. They hear your praise, [58:58] but they don't know about the tears that [59:01] came before it. But tonight, let the [59:04] truth be set in your spirit. God sees [59:08] you. God hears you. And your present [59:13] battle has not changed his faithfulness. [59:16] I'm going to repeat it again. God sees [59:19] you. God hears you. And your present [59:21] battle has not changed his faithfulness. [59:25] BEFORE DAVID STOOD BEFORE GOLIATH, he [59:28] had a history with God. Before the army [59:31] watched him, he'd been caring for sheep. [59:35] Before the public victory, there were [59:38] dangers nobody in that army had [59:40] witnessed but David. And when David [59:43] faced the giant, HE BROUGHT MORE than a [59:47] sling. He brought a testimony. [59:51] Oh, is there anybody else in this house [59:53] that has a testimony? Oh, if I could [59:56] take the mic and just share it around. I [59:58] know each and every one of you have a [60:00] testimony of God's faithfulness. You've [60:02] had a testimony of how the way that God [60:04] has brought you through. [60:07] Number one, quickly, when God sees, God [60:10] sees what nobody else sees. [60:12] >> David told Saul when the lion or the [60:15] bear carried off a sheep, he went after [60:17] it, he was protecting that that was [60:21] entrusted to him. THERE WAS NO CROWD [60:24] THAT was cheering him. There was no ARMY [60:27] THAT WAS CELEBRATING HIS COURAGE, BUT HE [60:29] WAS A SHEPHERD DOING HIS WORK. YET GOD [60:33] WAS PRESENT in that field. And the God [60:36] who was present in David's field, I came [60:39] to tell you tonight, he is present in [60:42] your hidden places. He sees when you [60:46] chose obedience and nobody congratulated [60:49] you. He sees you when you forgave even [60:52] though your heart still hurts. He sees [60:54] you when you've resisted temptation. He [60:57] sees you when you pray for your children [61:00] again and again and again and again. [61:03] Even after discouraging conversations, [61:06] he sees it. [61:07] >> He sees it when you whisper, "Lord, I [61:09] need your help because you have run out [61:12] of words." [61:13] >> But your quiet obedience matters to God. [61:17] Jesus taught us to pray to the father [61:19] who sees in secret. You do not have to [61:22] perform just what Minister Ashley was [61:25] just saying. You come you you can come [61:28] honestly and tonight you can lay down [61:30] the pressure to look strong and you can [61:33] say, "Father, I am tired. Father, I am [61:36] afraid. Father, there is an area in my [61:40] life that I need to surrender and I need [61:43] you." [61:44] That honest prayer [61:47] can become the beginning of a renewed [61:50] encounter with God. [61:52] >> Bring him the real battle. You bring him [61:54] your real heart and God will take care [61:56] of it. Quickly, my second point, [61:59] remember who carried you. Tell your [62:00] neighbor, remember who carried you. [62:02] Don't forget it. Don't forget it. WHEN [62:04] YOU GET TO WHERE GOD IS GOING TO TAKE [62:06] YOU, DON'T FORGET WHO CARRIED YOU WHEN [62:08] NO ONE ELSE was around. Don't forget it. [62:11] Don't forget it. When Saul questioned [62:13] David's ability, David remembered the [62:16] lion and he remembered the bear. But [62:19] listen to where he placed the emphasis. [62:22] The Lord who rescued me. David [62:26] remembered his experience. But he gave [62:29] God the glory. Tonight, I want you to [62:33] take a moment to remember. Remember the [62:36] season when you didn't know how you [62:38] would make it through and God made a [62:41] way. I want you to remember tonight the [62:44] time that provision came AND GOD [62:47] SURPRISED YOU. REMEMBER the person that [62:49] God used to encourage you. [62:53] Remember the strength that you received [62:55] to take one more step. [62:58] Remember the moment when his word met [63:00] you right where you were at. [63:04] Some of you tonight are facing a new [63:06] challenge. Maybe you came and you're [63:09] facing you have fear and you've been [63:10] filling your mind with thoughts with [63:12] everything that could go wrong. But [63:15] tonight, make room to remember WHAT GOD [63:18] HAS ALREADY DONE ON YOUR BEHALF. Come [63:21] on, somebody in tonight needs to make [63:23] room in that mind. Put away your fear. [63:26] Put away your doubt. If God did it [63:28] before, he's going to do it again. If he [63:32] did it before, I have no doubt that he's [63:35] going to show up and he's going to do it [63:36] again. [63:38] The circumstances have changed maybe, [63:41] but his character has not. The same Lord [63:44] who heard you then hears you now. The [63:47] same Lord who sustained you then is able [63:50] to sustain you now. THE SAME LORD WHO [63:53] MET YOU IN your last season. In the [63:55] season when YOU WERE BROKEN AND NOBODY [63:58] WANTED ANYTHING TO DO WITH you in THAT [64:00] SEASON, GOD SAW YOU. We may not know how [64:04] every situation would unfold, but [64:06] something that we do know is who we [64:08] trust in. [64:10] >> Can somebody say with me, "God has been [64:12] faithful to me." [64:15] >> Your testimony doesn't have to be [64:17] polished like a lot of people think. [64:19] Sometimes your testimony is simply, I [64:22] was hurting and God met me. I was [64:25] overwhelmed and God gave me strength. I [64:28] I'M STILL WALKING THROUGH IT, BUT HE HAS [64:30] NOT ABANDONED ME. YOU CAN TESTIFY WHILE [64:34] YOU'RE STILL IN THE PROCESS. YOU CAN [64:36] testify while he's still working in you [64:39] and through you. You do not HAVE TO WAIT [64:42] UNTIL EVERY QUESTION is answered to [64:45] acknowledge that he's been faithful. [64:49] And lastly, I told you I was going to be [64:51] short. Let faith answer the voice of [64:55] intimidation. [64:57] >> Goliath spoke [65:00] and the enemy was afraid. [65:04] But then David spoke and his words [65:08] pointed to the living God. So tonight, I [65:13] want you to consider what has been [65:15] shaping your inner conversations. [65:19] Is fear telling you that nothing can [65:22] change? Is shame maybe speaking into you [65:26] and telling you that YOU CANNOT COME [65:28] BACK TO GOD? Is discouragement telling [65:31] you, "Hey, you need to stop praying [65:33] because nothing's happening." Bring [65:35] those thoughts under the truth of his [65:37] word. Romans chapter 8 and teaches us [65:40] that nothing I said nothing can separate [65:44] me from the love of God. Oh, not [65:48] tribulation, not distress, not [65:50] persecution, nothing, nothing. Tell your [65:53] neighbor, nothing is going to separate [65:55] me from the love of God. So tonight, [65:59] let your mouths agree with that truth. [66:02] And what is that truth? I belong to [66:04] Jesus. His grace is sufficient. [66:09] >> Fear will not make my decisions. [66:12] With God's help, I will take the next [66:16] step. [66:17] These declarations [66:19] will help you to express your trust in [66:22] God. They turn our attention to the one [66:26] that has been and will always be [66:30] faithful. So tonight, the invitation is [66:33] simple. Bring your battle into the [66:36] presence of Jesus. If you have been [66:38] weary, come for strength. If you have [66:41] been hiding in in an area in your life [66:44] that you need surrender, come honestly [66:48] and bring it before the father. If fear [66:51] has been holding you back, ask the Lord [66:53] for courage to obey. And if you need [66:56] someone to pray with you, let us stand [67:00] beside you. You do not have to carry [67:03] this alone. And if you can offer tonight [67:07] and and if all you can offer tonight is [67:09] a trembling prayer, offer it because God [67:13] hears that prayer too. So our elders, [67:16] our pastors are going to be here. And [67:19] this is what encounter is all about. [67:21] what Minister Ashley was saying is not [67:23] only to create an atmosphere to create a [67:26] place where you can just connect with [67:29] your heavenly father, but it's a place [67:31] uh where if you're broken, you could [67:33] come for healing. If if IF YOU'RE IF [67:36] YOU'RE GOING INTO THE middle of maybe [67:39] THE STRONGEST BATTLE IN YOUR LIFE SO [67:41] THAT YOU could come and that you could [67:43] seek refuge in his presence. So, as we [67:47] stand and as we sing a song and before I [67:51] pray, if you need prayer tonight, if you [67:54] say, "Pastor, I'm still standing, but [67:57] you know what? Sometimes it's hard for [67:58] me to see God. Sometimes it's hard for [68:02] me to see why. The questions are there. [68:05] The situation is still there. I don't [68:07] see no change, but he is here tonight to [68:11] assure you that the same way he was with [68:13] David, he will be with you. The same way [68:17] that he showed up for David, he is [68:20] showing up for you. [84:32] We understand that in Psalm 24 and verse [84:34] one, it says that everything belongs to [84:36] the Lord. Everything belongs to the [84:39] Lord. Everything you've got in your [84:41] possession belongs to him. [84:44] It is our responsibility to steward it [84:46] well according to the moving of the [84:48] spirit in your life. [84:50] A lot of the times something happens. We [84:54] get attached to what does not belong to [84:56] us. Therefore, it becomes an issue of [85:00] priority. It becomes an issue of [85:02] identity. However, in the spirit in [85:04] which we are in right now, I sense the [85:06] Lord moving a part of our hearts towards [85:09] a direction of better stewardship of [85:11] what God has given you. [85:14] He's given you a lot of things. And [85:17] here's one one of the things that I've [85:18] learned along the way that if we don't [85:20] assign a mission and a purpose to what [85:23] God has given us in the form of [85:25] finances, [85:27] our finances will find its own appetites [85:29] to chase after. I'm going to say that [85:32] one more time. If we don't give an [85:35] assignment to every dollar that is in [85:37] our lives, eventually our appetites are [85:40] going to take advantage of that and it's [85:41] going to continue driving us down a road [85:44] in which we don't want. Here's what I'd [85:47] like for us to do. Before you even give, [85:50] I want you to I want you to to to [85:53] posture your heart before the Lord. [85:54] Close your eyes right where you're at. [85:57] Cuz there's something else of worship [85:59] that God wants to do in this very moment [86:01] in your life. And here it is. [86:05] He wants you to release things that are [86:07] holding you back. He wants you to [86:09] release even the things that your money [86:12] has done to you. Instead of it you [86:15] managing it, it's managed you. It's [86:18] created an identity of who you are [86:19] instead of finding our identity in Jesus [86:22] Christ. So in this very moment, Father, [86:24] we pray [86:26] that everything that you've given us as [86:28] a possession. [86:31] I rededicate it back to you. It does not [86:34] belong to me. It is yours. [86:38] And whatever I have tonight with me, [86:40] Jesus, I will use it to steward it well. [86:43] That it would increase. That the [86:46] assignment that I give it would be the [86:48] assignment to bring glory to your name. [86:51] The assignment that I give every dollar [86:52] that I have in my possession, God, I [86:55] give it back to you. I pray in the name [86:57] of Jesus that you would use it for your [86:59] honor, your glory, for the mission, the [87:01] mission of your church, and for the [87:03] purpose of this house. [87:06] We have a saying with dangerous men, our [87:09] men's group, that we are to be generous [87:12] to the house that feeds us. We are to be [87:16] generous to the house that feeds us. I [87:18] don't know about you, but tonight we got [87:19] a lot of food. There's been a lot of [87:22] spiritual food that's been deposited [87:24] into you that is meant to strengthen you [87:26] and build you up so that we walk out of [87:28] this place, we walk up stronger and [87:29] continue to disciple and to change the [87:32] world around us. And so because of that, [87:34] we're going to worship God back. Lord, [87:36] say, "Jesus, I'm going to bring this [87:38] offering to you [87:40] with the expectation that it's being [87:42] assigned to your work, that it's being [87:44] assigned to what you are doing through [87:46] new season." Somebody shout, "Amen." [87:49] >> So, as you prepare to give, I want you [87:51] to come with the spirit and the posture [87:53] of worship. Say, "I worship you with [87:55] this." Whether you click on the on the [87:57] QR code or when you come and drop it off [87:59] um at the buck the buckets in the front. [88:02] Either way, Lord, I do this in the form [88:04] of worship. I give back to you because [88:05] this is yours anyway. Strengthen it and [88:08] use it in Jesus mighty name. [88:13] Father, we pray for this time and this [88:15] offering that we're about to give. We [88:17] ask God that you would assign it God for [88:19] the kingdom sake. that your glory would [88:21] would be manifested through it and that [88:23] you would continue to do a work through [88:25] our lives, Jesus, as you continue to [88:27] transform us and make us more to your [88:30] image. And we pray this in the name of [88:31] Jesus Christ, as we come forward to [88:34] give, [88:36] we'll continue to worship. [88:41] >> And I will not be stay there silent. [88:47] I will always [88:51] worship [88:52] you [88:56] as long as I am breathing. [89:02] I will always [89:06] worship you.
