[00:00]
Well, hello to my peasant.
[00:01]
>> HELLO. TODAY I WILL BE TEACHING you the
[00:03]
secrets of the holiday of Sukkot. The
[00:05]
holiday of Sukkot is basically God
[00:07]
commanding the Jewish people to go
[00:09]
outside of the little homes and build a
[00:11]
house badly, but like on purpose. It is
[00:13]
also the only time of the year where you
[00:15]
will find a Jewish man holding a hammer.
[00:17]
But in most cases, he will be holding a
[00:18]
paycheck to pay the guy from the Home
[00:20]
Depot parking lot who will be building
[00:21]
his suka for him. Building a suka is
[00:23]
like a dirt Lego. Just if you mess up,
[00:25]
God notices. At night, only the Jewish
[00:27]
men will be sleeping in the suka. This
[00:29]
rule was not written by God. It was
[00:31]
written by the Jewish wives. Just
[00:32]
kidding. No, I'm not. But for real,
[00:34]
Sukkot is a beautiful holiday of
[00:35]
vulnerability. Think about it. All year
[00:37]
you're working on building your home,
[00:38]
your life, your worlds, your security.
[00:40]
And then God comes along and tells you,
[00:42]
"Leave all of this and go live in a
[00:44]
little hut outside where the only
[00:45]
running water is coming from the leak in
[00:47]
the ceiling." The message is so obvious.
[00:49]
True security in life and happiness does
[00:51]
not come from the materialistic things.
[00:52]
It comes from what's inside of us. One
[00:54]
of the most important things to properly
[00:56]
do so that God commanded us is to do it
[00:58]
with happiness. That is not a
[00:59]
coincidence. He's reminding us that you
[01:01]
don't need the shiny objects to feel
[01:02]
happiness. All you need is each other.
[01:04]
That even in your backyard in a leaking
[01:06]
little hut, you can still find
[01:07]
happiness. And remember this, my little
[01:09]
peasant. True happiness is not something
[01:11]
you buy. No, it's something you notice
[01:14]
that was already there. Baby Maurice,
[01:16]
that was so good. You better write that
[01:18]
down.
