Transcript [00:00] figure out a longer term deal. Uh let's [00:02] move on to this. Uh while history was [00:04] being made in Washington with those two [00:06] uh meeting there in DC, there was [00:08] tensions boiling over in the Middle [00:09] East. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin [00:11] Netanyahu took to the mic here at the UN [00:13] General Assembly in New York City and [00:15] got right down to business. The Israeli [00:17] Prime Minister calling out the people [00:19] who walked out of the room before he [00:21] started to speak. Watch this. [00:24] If there are any other moral cowards who [00:27] haven't yet left this hall, please do so [00:30] now. Thank you very much. We will [00:33] continue to defend our state. We will [00:36] continue to win because we have no other [00:41] choice. And whilst that was going on on [00:44] the inside of the general assembly hall, [00:46] on the outside, anti-Israel [00:47] demonstrators were taking to the streets [00:50] during his address with more than 100 [00:52] people being arrested. [00:54] Now, Asha Freriedman is a visiting [00:57] fellow at the Allison Center for [00:58] National Security and Alon Levy is a [01:00] former Israel National spokesperson and [01:02] they both join us here today. Gentlemen, [01:04] welcome and thank you for joining us. [01:06] >> Glad to be here. [01:08] >> Uh, let's get right to it. I mean, Alon, [01:11] what did you think of Benjamin [01:12] Netanyahu's speech? I mean, he was right [01:15] to it. He did not hold back. He hit on a [01:17] lot of different topics, but [01:19] specifically narrowed in on on what [01:21] we're seeing on the global stage and and [01:23] all this reaction to the anti-semitism. [01:26] >> Yeah, I don't think this was Netanyahu's [01:27] finest speech, but his message was very [01:29] clear. We are defending civilization [01:32] from barbarism. You all know it, and you [01:35] are all hypocrites. Israel is now 3 [01:38] years into a sevenfront war that began [01:41] with Hamas's barbaric atrocities on [01:44] October 7th. A war that has claimed [01:47] really a huge cost in Israel in which [01:50] Israel found itself fighting a terrorist [01:52] army that had dug a network of tunnels [01:54] under homes, under schools, under [01:56] mosques, and under hospitals. And [01:58] Netanyahu is turning to the UN audience, [02:00] those still in the audience, and saying, [02:02] "You are all absolute hypocrites behind [02:04] the scenes. You're asking us for help [02:06] behind the scenes. You're saying thank [02:08] you for knocking out Iran's nuclear [02:10] weapons program. Uh but you're playing [02:12] to the gallery and you're walking out in [02:14] what is really a pathetic stunt that [02:16] makes the United Nations even more of a [02:19] circus than it already is. So a very [02:21] clear message there saying Israel is [02:23] standing up for itself. Israel standing [02:25] up for the world and we're going to [02:26] continue doing it whether you recognize [02:28] it or not. [02:29] >> Yeah. Just on the walk out though, I [02:30] want to make a point because I've been [02:32] there every single day this week and [02:34] that hall is is empty for most people's [02:37] speeches. People aren't there. They're [02:39] never speaking to a full hall and those [02:41] people made a point of walking back in [02:44] during the speech during Colombia's [02:46] speech beforehand just so they could [02:48] perform that work walk out. So really it [02:51] was all performative. It didn't really [02:52] mean anything. Um, but Asher, I want to [02:55] bring you into the conversation and ask [02:57] your opinion on his speech. And do you [02:58] think that Netanyahu put up a good case [03:01] for Israel under so much scrutiny from [03:03] all the other countries that we've heard [03:05] so far on that stage this week? [03:07] >> Well, I think he did put a good case. He [03:10] helped expose some of the lies, some of [03:12] the falsehoods, which I think is one of [03:13] the reasons why the people, some of the [03:15] people in the audience just didn't want [03:16] to hear. They didn't want to be [03:18] confronted with the facts, with the [03:20] expert opinions like that of John [03:22] Spencer, which he brought in regarding [03:24] Israel's vast efforts to avoid civilian [03:27] casualties in its sevenfront war. As [03:29] Alone said, the UN is a body. We just [03:32] published a piece of research. There are [03:34] over 30 uh committees and bodies and [03:37] departments and officials in the UN that [03:40] are involved in demonizing Israel, dele [03:42] delegitimizing Israel. In some ways, the [03:44] UN has become the engine of this global [03:47] campaign to demonize Israel, to deny its [03:50] right to defend itself. So to have [03:51] Netanyahu stand up there and say, "This [03:54] is what we're doing." And you know what? [03:56] If the choice is between continuing to [03:59] combat the Iranian regime and the [04:01] terrorists that threaten us, or having [04:03] more people in the hall, well, we're [04:05] going to choose to continue defending [04:06] our nation and our people, even if it [04:08] leads to some people, as you quite [04:09] rightly said, performatively walking out [04:12] of the hall. Alon, I got to get to the [04:14] protests that were happening outside of [04:15] the UN. Uh, you also had Prime Minister [04:18] Benjamin Netanyahu addressing that. He [04:20] says, "You all are hypocrites." The fact [04:22] that you are coming here to protest [04:25] what's happening uh uh w with the [04:28] Palestinians. But he says, "Well, what's [04:30] what about Iran when they were killing [04:32] their own people? You're killing your [04:34] own protesters in their country." So, he [04:36] called them fake protesters. What was [04:38] your take on that? Yeah, this [04:40] anti-Israel movement is not a set of [04:42] protests. It is a cult. It is a cult [04:45] that has whipped itself into a moral [04:47] hysteria based on a campaign of lies. [04:50] And every single one of those lies about [04:53] the so-called Gaza genocide. That hoax [04:55] is collapsing. With every day that goes [04:58] by, we learn about more so-called [05:01] journalists who are Hamas combatants in [05:03] disguise, more so-called doctors who are [05:06] again Hamas combatants in scrubs. But [05:09] for the last 3 years, these people have [05:11] been fed propaganda upon propaganda [05:14] against a democratic state defending [05:16] itself from a terrorist army that [05:18] violated every rule in the international [05:21] law book. And they now see this as the [05:23] moral cause of their generation. They [05:25] find themselves standing on the same [05:27] side as the terrorists who perpetrated [05:29] the October 7th massacre and not the [05:32] only country in the Middle East that is [05:33] fighting shoulderto-shoulder with the [05:35] United States. So I think we need to be [05:37] really concerned about how this [05:38] anti-ionist hate movement is leading to [05:41] real political violence in the United [05:44] States, in Canada, around the world, and [05:46] understand that there is nothing [05:47] spontaneous about this. This is the [05:49] result of years of deliberate [05:52] information warfare being waged against [05:55] America's number one ally in the Middle [05:57] East in support of the most barbaric [05:59] terrorists of the century. [06:01] >> Yeah, well said. Uh Asher Alon, thank [06:03] you so much for coming on and and [06:04] shedding some light on on that speech. [06:07] Clearly, it's going to be analyzed here [06:08] for the days to come. [06:09] >> Thanks, gentlemen. [06:10] >> All right. Meanwhile, much of Europe is [06:12] on heightened alert this morning [06:14] following several new intelligence [06:16] reports warning of potential Russian [06:18] attacks on NATO countries. Denmark.
Eylon Levy argues that Israel is facing a global information war as criticism of its war against Hamas intensifies, while what he calls the “Gaza genocide” narrative is increasingly being challenged.
In this tense interview on Newsmax, former Israeli national spokesman Eylon Levy explains:
Why he says Netanyahu’s UN speech delivered a clear message about Israel defending itself and the wider West.
Why he described the UN walkout during Netanyahu’s speech as largely “performative.”
His claim that new revelations about Hamas operatives posing as journalists and doctors are undermining the narrative surrounding Gaza.
Why he sees anti-Zionist activism as contributing to rising political violence in the US, Canada and elsewhere.
How Israel’s seven-front war against Hamas, Iran and other terrorist groups has become a wider battle over global opinion and information.
The discussion comes as Israel faces intense international scrutiny over its military campaign, while debates over antisemitism, civilian casualties, Hamas’s use of civilian infrastructure and the role of international institutions continue to shape global perceptions of the conflict.
