Hall of Fame, you know, is trying to
[00:02]
make a consistent consistency of player
[00:04]
who displayed a high-level basketball
[00:07]
throughout their entire career.
[00:11]
Hopefully, they'll think of some some
[00:13]
nice stuff about me, you know.
[00:14]
>> Yes, this is going to be crazy.
[00:16]
>> I like this.
[00:17]
>> Oh, he got it.
[00:23]
>> Being able to persevere
[00:26]
that's the ideal for any athlete.
[00:28]
Because as an athlete, we are playing
[00:30]
the highest level of of our sport.
[00:43]
It does [music] require a lot of
[00:45]
excruciating mileage on your body, and
[00:48]
sometimes you're faced with injury.
[00:50]
But the character within side [music] of
[00:52]
someone allows them to be able to
[00:53]
persevere from those injuries and still
[00:55]
continue to play that sport at a high
[00:58]
level, and that's exactly what I did.
[01:01]
>> I stayed focused.
[01:02]
I came back like a phoenix.
[01:05]
I want to take a minute to tell [music]
[01:06]
you guys that I'm honored to be
[01:09]
enshrined
[01:10]
in the National Basketball Hall of Fame.
[01:12]
It means a lot. Uh it means that my my
[01:14]
career has been seen,
[01:16]
and it's been appreciative,
[01:19]
and the hard work that was put in to the
[01:22]
game of basketball to
[01:24]
reach the heights that I've reached. I
[01:26]
want to thank all my fans worldwide
[01:28]
watching my career, supporting my
[01:30]
career.
[01:31]
Um I hope [music] that I was able to
[01:33]
entertain you all with the way I played
[01:34]
the game of basketball.
[01:36]
You guys have followed my journey from a
[01:37]
high school kid to a Hall of Famer, and
[01:40]
I appreciate you.
[01:45]
There was a lot of challenges.
[01:48]
And those challenges require someone to
[01:49]
be able to [music] be their own leader
[01:51]
in a way where
[01:53]
you're able to stay out of trouble,
[01:55]
you're able to stay on a straight path
[01:57]
[music] and you have a goal in mind.
[02:01]
And what I was able to accomplish was
[02:04]
I've always said my prayers, [music]
[02:05]
right? That was the first and foremost
[02:06]
thing for me.
[02:07]
But I also
[02:09]
was focused [music] enough to say no and
[02:11]
also to follow my path, which led me to
[02:13]
the NBA.
