Transcript [00:00] Is Iran threatening to unleash a doomsday weapon? Is the next round of war with Iran already [00:07] beginning to take shape? Thran has rejected the American response to its proposal for ending this [00:13] war, calling it insufficient while simultaneously threatening to bring new capabilities into the [00:21] conflict if fighting resumes. Capabilities it has not yet used. Iran is threatening to [00:28] strike high value American assets in the Gulf and then regional digital infrastructure as well. And [00:36] beneath all of the noise, the nuclear clock keeps ticking. Yan is accelerating the rebuilding of its [00:42] missile arsenal while Israel is also watching for signs of renewed activities in the nuclear [00:50] program. It appears that the revolutionary guards are trying to move rapidly towards an atomic bomb. [00:57] How far will the Houthis go before the United States enters the war itself? Saudi Arabia is [01:04] under relentless attack. Riyad's international airport has been struck again for the fourth time [01:10] in just 5 days. And in Lebanon, a discovery that raises some deep troubling questions. According [01:18] to a Lebanese report, two Kizbal operatives were caught on their way to the Dakia neighborhood in [01:24] Beirut with approximately 800 kg of militarygrade explosives. Who ordered such an enormous quantity [01:32] of explosives to be delivered? And what exactly was the terrorist organization planning to do with [01:37] these explosives in the capital of Lebanon, Beirut? And in Gaza, the Hamas terrorist [01:44] organization is trying to rebuild. While Israel continues dismantling its infrastructure and also [01:50] Israeli defense giant Rafael is showing its card, a new Israeli weapon has been revealed. I'm Pinto [02:01] and I'm joined by Mati Shashani and we are boots on the ground. We bring you the full truth about [02:06] what is happening in Israel and the full truth about what is happening in our neighborhood, [02:11] the Middle East today. Today's October 12th. So, let's begin. Let me remind you about the [02:19] Rebuild Israel campaign, which is helping restore Israel's north. And we'll tell you more about this [02:25] in today's report. You can meanwhile go to tbn.org/rebuild Israel to learn more. in the [02:33] skies, at sea, and also inside military command centers. Israel and the United States are already [02:40] preparing for the possibility that the war with Iran is about to resume. According to regional [02:47] reports that are published over the weekend, Israeli F-35 I fighter jets, they participated [02:53] in a penetrating exercise inside Iran, conducting electronical warfare and disrupting radar systems [03:03] with American aerial refueling support operating alongside this exercise. The report has not been [03:10] officially confirmed, but just hours later, Iran staged a show of force of its own involving dozens [03:18] of ballistic missiles, drones, and tests of its air defensive systems. And overnight while PM [03:25] Netanyahu gathered the defense minister and also senior security officials at military headquarters [03:32] in Tel Aviv for discussions that included Iran American forces were also taking action. [03:39] A sentom fighter jet precisely struck the stern of the cargo ship Ocean Molika which according [03:47] to the American officials had departed an Iranian port and ignored repeated warnings as it attempted [03:54] to break through the blockade. The United States says that it has already turned back 135 vessels, [04:02] disabled four four commercial ships, and destroyed 10 tankers linked to the revolutionary guards. [04:11] The impact is immediately visible in the Strait of Hmouth. And over the weekend, just five commercial [04:19] cargo vessels passed through the straight on Saturday and not a single crossing was recorded [04:25] on Sunday. This is compared with 31 during the previous weekend. And on the diplomatic front, [04:33] there's no breakthrough. Thran announced overnight that the American response to [04:38] its seven conditions for reopening the Strait of Hummus was insufficient and that it would neither [04:46] reopen the strait nor return to negotiations until its demands were completely met. [04:52] President Trump, meanwhile, he continues to speak from a position of strength, [04:58] saying that we can finish this very quickly, he said, adding about the Iranians that they have no [05:05] idea how nice have been to them. In other words, while Iranian citizens can barely afford to buy [05:12] food, the revolutionary guards are focusing on rebuilding their missile systems and threatening [05:18] to expand their list of targets. Israel is conducting military exercises and holding [05:24] security assessments while the United States is tightening its grip on the Iranian shipping routes [05:30] and demonstrating that it is prepared to use force. And as the pressure tightens around Iran [05:40] in the straight of its Houthi proxy is beginning to bring the war directly to Saudi Arabia. [05:49] This time the Houthis returned to Riyad before the smoke from the previous attack had been cleared. [05:55] Yesterday another Houthi missile struck Terminal 4 at the King Khaled International Airport, [06:01] starting a fire, killing a Palest Pakistani national and also injuring 11 others. It came [06:08] just one day after Saturday's deadly attack which killed 12 people and injured 309. The airport has [06:17] now been attacked four times in just 5 days. And the pressure the pressure is now reaching [06:23] the very top of the Saudi leadership. According to reports, Muhammad bin Salman is moving between [06:30] fortified palaces that are equipped with bunkers under heavy security while Saudi Arabia relocates [06:37] its air defenses batteries from one location to another. Sources inside the kingdom say that [06:43] its interceptor missile stockpiles are running dangerously low. The Houthis are warning airliners [06:50] to stay away from Saudi airports and Riad is being forced to decide what to protect first, [06:58] the capital, the royal palaces or the kingdom's energy facilities. Trump is already keeping the [07:05] possibility of American intervention on the table. And the war in Yemen is rapidly becoming a direct [07:11] threat to the heart of Saudi Arabia. And amidst all of this comes the almost unbelievable irony [07:19] from Thran. Iran is suddenly offering to mediate between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis in Yemen, [07:28] promising to help calm the fighting. Even though Iran itself has been the organization's principal [07:35] supporter providing weapons, technology and military exercises for years now. West train [07:42] and also Saudi officials, they also attribute a direct role to members of the revolutionary [07:47] guards in supporting the Houthis, their missiles and their drone programs. The Iran for its part [07:53] denies that directly controls the Houthis and Iran. Iran is not fighting with missiles alone. It [08:01] has also tried to penetrate public debate in the west and according to open AI, a network operating [08:09] from Iran used chat GPT to create seven fictional journalist identities. Draft articles critical of [08:17] the United States and Israel and pitch them for publications. Approximately 100 such articles [08:24] were published across around 12 media outlets. Artificial intelligence was then also used [08:30] to generate fake comments that appeared to have been written by ordinary American internet users, [08:37] creating the impression of a genuine public support. Open AAI banned the accounts, but [08:44] emphasized that it could not determine exactly who was behind this work or whether it was operated [08:50] directly by the Iranian regime or not. And alongside the direct pressure on Iran, its network [08:57] of proxies continues operating around Isl backed by Thran and are attempting to rebuild their [09:05] capabilities. And overnight, another operative was identified in Syria who had reportedly been [09:12] working under the Iranian direction to advance explosive drone and rocket attacks against the [09:18] idea forces. In other words, even while the Iranian regime itself is under pressure, [09:24] it continues trying to launch attacks through the network of forces that it had built around Israel. [09:31] And now we come to the heaviest and most dangerous arm of that network, which is in Lebanon. And this [09:37] time, this time there are suspicions that the terrorist organization was planning to target [09:43] Lebanese civilians or members of the Lebanese government in Beirut. So now to Lebanon, where [09:49] Israel is already sending a message that leaves very little room for interpretation. If another [09:56] military campaign against Iran and joins the fighting, the IDF is preparing for an operation [10:02] far larger than anything that we have seen so far. According to the reports, the warnings delivered [10:09] to Beirut include the possibility of expanding the ground operations, entering additional areas of [10:16] Lebanon, and even imposing an air and land and also naval blockade if the Lebanese government [10:23] fails to restrain the organization. And at precisely this moment, a vehicle is intercepted in [10:31] an incident that demonstrate why Israel does not believe that is genuinely disarming. So according [10:38] to reports, twobala operatives were arrested on way to the Dhaka neighborhood in Beirut with [10:46] approximately 800 kg of explosives. The shipment contained more than 200 kg of C4, hundreds of [10:53] kilograms of tetril, nails, metal balls, and additional explosive devices. A combination [11:00] that is capable of turning a single vehicle into a scene of enormous destruction. So according to the [11:07] detainees statements and aisbal commander ordered the explosives to be transported to the Dhaka [11:16] neighborhood in Beirut and handed over to another individual. Investigators there are still trying [11:21] to establish the final destination and exactly what the materials were intended to be used for. [11:29] And this comes as Israel suspects that Iran's Kuds forces is recruiting operatives in Lebanon and in [11:36] Syria to carry out further terrorist attacks. So in other words, while Beirut talks about [11:43] disarmament, the despicable terrorist organization is according to the reports continuing to move [11:51] explosives, preserve its infrastructure, and prepare for the possibility that the northern [11:57] front will erupt again alongside Iran. I'm Pinto and I'm joined by Mati Shashani and we are here on [12:05] Booth on the ground. It [12:46] started with me, a cell phone in the Gaza Strip, and it grew to this YouTube channel to our big [12:56] team in Israel. We couldn't do all of this without your help. So, if you want to help us reach more [13:07] people, continue our reports, you can go to tbn.org/boots onthe ground. This is a great [13:16] way to stand with Israel. And you'll get a song copy of my book, Boots on the Ground, a war journal of an IDF [13:45] officer. And now, let's turn to our senior Middle East correspondent, Mati Shashani. Mati, is Iran [13:53] now playing a particularly dangerous double game? The Houthis are setting Saudi Arabia on fire and [14:01] then tan offers to step in as a mediator to put out the very flames that they lit. I think that's [14:09] a great question. If the Saudis admit that they need Iranian help to stop an Iranian proxy, the [14:17] Houthis, even though they do have a certain degree of of independence, it still shows the world, [14:22] shows, especially the Iranians, weakness on behalf of the Saudis. And this is really the catch that [14:28] the Saudis are in. They need to be able to project power on a regional level. What does that mean? [14:34] It means they need to be able to stop the Houthi attacks without having help from the United [14:40] States or Israel or Pakistan or the Iranians. Cooperating with the Iranians is like having a [14:49] crime organization shake you down, burn down your shop and then say they want to help you, maybe you [14:54] should pay them for protection. And that's exactly what Iran is doing. They're threatening the Saudis [15:00] through the Houthis and saying it's a shame if someone fired rockets or ballistic missiles at [15:06] your airports. What a terrible thing it would be. You should really talk to us so we can help [15:10] protect you from this villainous evil that's taken root at your border. And of course, everyone knows [15:17] around the world that Iran is behind the Houthis. Not 100% but close enough to that to make it [15:24] absurd for the Saudis to ask the the Iranians for help against the Houthis. Once again, Saudi needs [15:32] to prove to itself and to the world that they have military power that they know how to use, [15:37] that they're able to punch the in their weight class regionally and stop Houthi attacks and that [15:43] they are a worthy adversary together with the Gulf States, maybe with some help from the US to stop [15:49] Iranian attacks on them, especially through the Houthis. That's where we are right now. [15:55] It's a place that we must remember puts MBS in a very uncomfortable position where he is tasked, [16:01] he is challenged with showing power, showing influence, showing military resilience against [16:07] Iran and against Iranian proxies. Without doing that, they will once again be caught up in a [16:13] position of a weak country that is reliant on others to fight their wars. And believe me guys, [16:19] that is not a place they want to be. and Mati does the strike on a tanker near Oman suggests [16:26] that the maritime conflict is no longer confined to the straight of Hmuz but is spreading into a [16:33] grave zone where every shipping route, every port and every insurance company becomes part of this [16:39] battlefield. Look, the entire methodology of Iran is terrorism. them hitting a tanker by Oman with [16:48] a naval mine who knows where the actual strike originated from. It's not just to show that they [16:53] can. The whole idea here that the concept behind this is using terrorism to try and affect others. [17:01] It's projecting a sense of danger to the insurance companies, a sense of danger to the shipping [17:07] companies who need to decide whether or not they want to send their ships, their oil tankers in [17:12] and out of the straight of Humuz or even in and out of the region altogether. And it also sends [17:18] a message to the European countries and to anyone else in the world who's planning to move goods in [17:24] and out of the Red Sea or the Arabian Sea or the Persian Sea, whatever you want to call it, [17:29] without cooperating with Iran. And why is this important? Because as long as Iran can carry the [17:35] threat, as long as Iran can show others that they are in control of the situation, even if it's just [17:42] a fraction of a percent of a risk, it still is risk enough for people to have to recalculate, [17:48] recalibrate, and rethink their steps. And that is the goal of the Iranians. They never planned. They [17:53] never set out to have ultimate military victory. That never was their plan. Their plan always [17:59] was to try and create enough doubt, enough fear, enough of a challenge in the mind of others that [18:06] they wouldn't dare wouldn't dare going against them or starting a campaign against them. And [18:13] right now, we need to wait on the response. The fact that they're able to sabotage a ship [18:17] that's far enough away from their shores that it should be protected by the United States, [18:22] that begs the question of what are the European countries going to do? What are the insurers going [18:27] to do? What are the shipping shipping companies going to do? Are they going to rely on the US for [18:31] protection and just look at this as what it is, a marginal small event or are they going to respond [18:36] with fear and look to negotiate with Iran or stop traffic altogether causing a global or at least [18:44] substantial price uptick of oil, natural gas, and other commodities. That's what Iran has been going [18:50] for all along. and last night or uh these type of attacks is just another example of the way they [18:57] operate. They're trying to make us afraid. They're trying to make us fearful. They're trying to make [19:02] us second guessess ourselves and our resolve. And in some cases, it works. We need to show them [19:07] that that will not work in this case. and Mati is Hamas, the Palestinian terrorist organization in [19:14] the Gaza Strip, trying to turn the yellow line in Gaza into a permanent zone of attrition, a place [19:21] where it can repeatedly provoke confrontations without officially declaring a return to war. The [19:28] Gaza Strip is caught in this very very unhealthy and dangerous equilibrium. A situation in which [19:34] Israel is holding a defensive parameter called the yellow line. And Hamas continuously tries [19:39] to challenge, to weaken, to break that defensive line. And they do it in a very conniving way, in a [19:46] very sophisticated way. They send children to test it. They send children with weapons to test the [19:51] defensive defensive measures and intelligence of Israeli forces. And then they'll send terrorists [19:57] but maybe civilians because you can't see if they have weapons or not to walk towards the IDF [20:03] fortifications and see how the IDF will respond. The IDF up till this point and even consistently [20:08] in recent days responds strongly every time this happens. both by eliminating the terrorist threat, [20:14] but also by pushing the yellow line forward to prevent kamas from embedding itself close to our [20:21] uh fortifications, close to our uh protective line or protective barrier line. And again, [20:27] this is all tactical. It's only a short-term solution. All the long-term solutions here [20:32] are completely different. The long-term solutions require something entirely different. They require [20:37] kamas being removed from the Gaza Strip. That was always the solution. That was always the plan. [20:43] That has not changed. And we need to make sure that the Trump administration and others around [20:48] the world. Remember that Hamas must be removed from the Gaza Strip. Otherwise, Israel and whoever [20:55] else is trying to protect that border, if such a force arises, needs to continuously fight a war of [21:02] attrition, a war of fatigue against a terrorist organization that has absolutely no problem in [21:08] sacrificing children, men, women, uh, all on the altar of fighting and harming Israel and of course [21:16] the United States. And that's the reality we're dealing with right now on the ground in Gaza. [21:21] We're dealing with a tactical war when we need strategic solutions in the shape in the form [21:27] of diplomatic of policy change of a force that will replace kamas inside of Gaza. That always [21:35] was the solution and continues to be so right now. Thank you very much, Mati. That really helped me [21:42] understand and I believe that our viewers really appreciate this commentary. And to all of you, [21:47] if you want to help us reach more people around the world, please hit the subscribe button on [21:51] tbnisrael YouTube channel. It is free. Another way is to go to tbn.org/boots on the ground and [22:01] then make a donation and you'll get a copy of the book called Boots on the Ground, which shows the [22:09] origins of everything that we're doing here. Okay, now let's get back to the news because [22:15] after an oil tanker was struck near the coast of Oman, two others are still missing and the search [22:23] is continuing. The tanker Pentro Dolphin, that's the name of the tanker, was carrying 11 Indian [22:31] crew members and was anchored near the port of Sohar when it came under the attack. The vessel [22:37] was flying the Nicaraguan flag. A second tanker, Valterra, flying the Marshall Islands flag was [22:46] struck by an unidentified projectile near the Strait of Hummus. A fire broke out on board, [22:53] although all 11 Indian crew members were reportedly safe. The exact responsibility for the [23:01] attack has not been independently established. For shipping companies, this creates an increasingly [23:07] dangerous situation. commercial vessels. They're caught between the American enforcement of the [23:13] naval blockade, suspected Iranian attacks, and the threat of further military escalation, and [23:21] the diplomatic negotiations are doing little to calm the situation. Iran has rejected Washington's [23:28] latest response. This is to its seven conditions for ending this conflict. Those demands, [23:35] they include lifting the American blockade and releasing frozen Iranian funds. Dion insists that [23:42] its most important conditions remain unresolved. But the Iranian leadership has now instructed [23:50] another threat. They introduced another threat to this war. One that goes far beyond the oil [23:56] tankers and the military bases. Mushin Razid, the head of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, [24:03] has warned that American linked data centers under sea communications cables and artificial [24:09] intelligence facilities around the Persian Gulf, they could become targets if the fighting resumes. [24:16] As he claims that these technology assets, particularly around the United Arab Emirates [24:22] and the Strait of Hormuz, are worth more than $2 trillion. Think about that. Think about what [24:29] it means. A strike against an oil tanker threatens the maritime trade. An attack against a major data [24:36] center or communications cable could disrupt the digital services, financial transactions, [24:42] and international businesses as well. Thran is attempting to turn the enormous American [24:49] technology investments in the Gulf into another source of source of pressure on Washington. [24:55] And then inside Iran, military preparations are taking a different form. The United States Army [25:02] has circulated a recognition guide called know the threat designed to help the American soldiers [25:09] identify the members of Iran's regular armed forces which are known as Artesh. The guide [25:15] includes Iranian uniforms, military insignia, and weapons such as AKM rifles, the Iranian MSAF2, [25:24] G3 rifles, MG3 machine guns, RPG7 launchers, and other weapons. Now, this does not mean [25:32] that American ground invasion has been ordered. The army produced similar recognition guide for [25:39] several potential adversaries, but it highlights a part of Iran's military that has received [25:46] considerably less attention. Iran's regular ground forces, they're estimated at approximately 350,000 [25:53] personnel, including some 220,000 conscripts. While Iran's air force, navy and air defenses, [26:01] they have suffered extensive damage such as its ground forces structure which remains intact. [26:07] There is also another organization the Iranian leadership is determined to preserve which is [26:14] faraj the national police and internal security force. Supreme leader Muttap claims that the [26:22] American and Israeli strikes failed to break Iran's internal security apparatus. He has [26:28] called for additional personnel, equipment, and artificial intelligence tools to strengthen the [26:34] domestic policing forces. That tells us something important about Tehran's priorities. The regime [26:41] must prepare for threats from outside its borders while maintaining its ability to control unrest at [26:48] home. Iranian army commander Amir Hatami has also claimed that military production lines continued [26:56] operating despite the attacks. Independent assessments have not established their exact [27:01] output. Western intelligence assessments they suggest that Iran has preserved enough missiles [27:09] and drone that are manufacturing capability to replenish parts of its arsenal. One Western [27:17] official has also alleged that Russia is supplying missiles, although Moscow has not confirmed those [27:23] shipments. For Israel, the danger is that a pause in major fighting can give Iran additional time to [27:30] rebuild. And before we continue, I want to help you share the truth. How you do that? Now, [28:58] there's another serious development that is unfolding along Israel's northern front. Lebanese [29:04] reporting indicates that Israel has delivered a warning to Beirut. If Hisbala joins another [29:10] war alongside Iran, Israel could expand its ground operations into additional Lebanese territory. The [29:18] reported options also include an air, land, and naval blockade intended to pressure the Lebanese [29:24] government to prevent from entering this conflict. And the discovery of approximately 800 kg of [29:33] explosives being transported towards Beirut raises serious questions about Kizbala's intentions. [29:41] Investigators, they identified 26 kilograms of C4 and 281 kilograms of titrol alongside [29:50] smaller explosive devices and metal objects that are capable of producing dangerous fragmentation. [29:56] So according to the suspect's initial statements, the commander ordered the explosives moved from [30:03] the Balbeck area towards Dhaka where they were supposed to be delivered to another individual. [30:10] Lebanese military investigations. They are still trying to establish the final destination and [30:16] intended purpose of these explosives. There is no confirmed evidence yet of specific planned bombing [30:23] targets. Across the border in Syria, Israel has already acted against another suspected Iranian [30:30] directed network. The Israeli military struck Yusf Ali al-Hassoon near the Syrian Lebanese border, [30:38] accusing him of planning rocket and also explosive drone attacks against the Israeli [30:43] troops in southern Syria. His death has not been conclusively confirmed. Israeli forces have also [30:50] recently confronted three Syrians who entered the military positions in the buffer zone. One was [30:57] shot and killed in the first incident. Two others arrived in a motorcycle in a separate incident and [31:03] were detained after troops opened fire. These developments they underline the difficulty [31:09] of preventing the Iranian linked activity along Israel's northern approaches. Saudi Arabia faces a [31:16] different problem following the deadly attacks on Riyad's airport. Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman [31:23] is reportedly moving between fortified palaces protected by bunkers and specially selected [31:31] security teams. The first major airport attack killed 12 people and wounded 309. A subsequent [31:39] strike killed a Pakistani resident and injured 11 others. Saudi Arabia is seeking additional [31:47] air defenses while trying to protect its airports. its oil infrastructure and the east west pipeline [31:54] that allows oil exports to bypass Hmuz. So the financial consequences there are substantial Saudi [32:02] authorities they project an economic contraction of 3.6% 6% this year. While major development [32:09] projects like other projects in the area, they face growing financial pressure. And meanwhile, [32:16] Israel is presenting some of the technologies that could shape future military operations. At [32:23] the AUSA Defense Exhibition in Washington, Rafael, an Israeli company, is unveiling its Spike MLU2 [32:31] system. The technology allows American forces to launch advanced Israeli Spike LR2 missiles from [32:37] existing TA launchers, including those fitted to Bradley fighting vehicles without replacing the [32:45] gunner's interface. That's important because the United States, they can upgrade precision strike [32:52] capabilities without replacing the entire weapons platforms. is also displaying skysonic design to [33:01] counter hypersonic missiles alongside the Tamil and the stunner interceptors that are used by [33:08] Iron Dome and David Sling. Iron beam and light beam demonstrate laserbased approaches to air [33:15] defenses while the compact iron wasp is designed to protect armored vehicles against FPV attack [33:22] drones. Another system combines a remotely controlled 30 mm cannon, two spike missiles, [33:29] and trophy active protection in one weapons rest station. Rafael is also presenting a [33:37] longer range spike NLOS capabilities, including integration with American Apache helicopters. [33:44] This is alongside microlite aerial sensors and the Sigma electronic intelligence systems. [33:52] The key issue is whether these technologies can be produced quickly enough and in sufficient [33:57] quantities for a prolonged military confrontation. And finally, there's another battlefield in this [34:04] conflict. The information reaching people around the world. Open AI has exposed an [34:12] influence operation originating in Iran that used seven fictitious journalist identities to place [34:20] nearly 100 articles in approximately a dozen legitimate online publications. The operators [34:26] they use artificial intelligence to improve the articles, prepare pitches and editors and [34:31] generate social media comments that are portraying America as the aggressor and Iran as the victim. [34:38] Some of the published stories they reached genuine audiences. The social media operation however [34:46] attracted relatively little attention because the engagement was not authentic.
