Christians United for Israel

For the people who lived in Be’eri, Nir Oz, and Nahal Oz, these names meant home. They meant work shared across generations, weekends with family, and neighbors who became lifelong friends. As we approach the third anniversary of October 7, we remember the communities attacked—and the everyday lives that made each place their own.

America and Israel are bound by more than shared interests. We are united by shared values, a commitment to freedom, and the determination to stand against those who seek to destroy it. As Marissa Streit reminds us, the forces that demonize Israel, excuse terrorism, and undermine the values of the West do not stop at Israel’s borders. Standing with Israel means standing for the principles that strengthen America: freedom, truth, security, and the courage to confront evil. The fight for America and Israel is the same fight.

On October 6, 1973, as Jews observed Yom Kippur—the holiest day of the Jewish year—Egypt and Syria launched a surprise attack on Israel. A day of prayer and fasting became a desperate fight to defend their country. We remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the courage of those who answered the call to defend Israel. Their sacrifice must never be forgotten. We stand with Israel and pray for a future of lasting peace and security.

A granddaughter who loved Harry Potter. A grandmother known for her cookies. Parents who shared a love of music. A son and brother who brought many talents to his community. As we approach the third anniversary of October 7, we remember the people behind the headlines and the lives stolen in the Hamas-led terrorist attacks. These are a few of their stories. Each belongs to a family whose loss continues long after the news cycle moves on. At CUFI, we honor their memory and stand with their loved ones. May their memories be a blessing.

There is nothing American—and nothing Christian—about antisemitism. As Pastor John Hagee has made clear, hatred of the Jewish people cannot be justified by faith or disguised as patriotism. When antisemitism rises, Christians United for Israel will stand with the Jewish people, speak the truth, and refuse to be silent. We stand up. We speak out. We stand with Israel and the Jewish people.

At a sermon in July, Ahmad instructed devotees not to take Jews and Christians for friends and declared that devotion to Allah carries an obligation to oppose and fight enemies. For the sake of Allah, it includes the obligation to declare enmity for his sake, opposition for the sake of Allah,” Ahmad said in a clip posted to the center’s social media feed. “It is to declare opposition: indeed, to take up arms against his enemies, to shun them, and to stay far from them both in word and deed.”

Nearly three years after the Hamas-led terrorist attacks in southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, Ruby Chen, father of slain hostage Itay Chen, said Americans have not reckoned with the number of their fellow citizens murdered during the attack and ensuing war.

Antisemitism is not a relic of the past—and America is not immune. As Princeton University’s Robert P. George warns, the resurgence of antisemitism in the United States echoes a darkness many hoped had been left behind in Europe. History teaches us what can happen when hatred of Jews is normalized, excused, or ignored. Confronting antisemitism requires recognizing it clearly and refusing to give it a place in our communities. Silence is not the answer.

History has shown that when hatred of Jews is tolerated, it damages the societies that allow it to grow. Confronting antisemitism requires all of us to recognize it, call it out, and stand alongside our Jewish neighbors.

This week on CUFI Weekly, we examine a frightening question: what happens when the people and institutions we are supposed to trust no longer feel safe? An Israel-bound Flydubai flight narrowly avoided catastrophe after a pilot allegedly stabbed the captain and attempted to crash the aircraft—an incident Israeli authorities are investigating as a possible terror attack with chilling echoes of 9/11. Meanwhile, in Britain, a report on its National Health Service documented the discrimination experienced by Jewish staff and patients From the cockpit to the hospital, trust matters. When antisemitism and hatred penetrate professions entrusted with human life, the consequences extend far beyond hateful words—they undermine the basic confidence that people should be able to place in those responsible for their safety.

"A leading American evangelical leader has condemned remarks made by a Palestinian official claiming the Bible as a ""Palestinian book."" Palestinian Ambassador to the U.K. Husam Zomlot made the comments earlier this month at the University of Bradford as the revisionist argument takes shape asserting Jesus was a Palestinian. Zomlot’s claims that the Bible is a ""Palestinian book"" and that, by extension, all Christians are Palestinian has drawn sharp criticism from those who say the remarks advance a contested historical narrative about the land."

The Bible is not a political prop, and Jewish history is not something that can be rewritten to fit a modern narrative. After a Palestinian official described the Bible as a “Palestinian book,” Pastor John Hagee pushed back, calling the claim “contemptible.” Christians should understand exactly why this matters. The Bible is rooted in the history of the Jewish people, the land of Israel, the prophets of Israel, and the Jewish identity of Jesus and the apostles. Attempts to erase that history are not harmless. They distort Scripture, deny reality, and feed the same hostility toward the Jewish people that Christians have a responsibility to confront.

Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv was diverted to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday after the co-pilot allegedly repeatedly stabbed the captain in what Israeli authorities are now treating as a terrorist attack, according to Israeli media reports. Flight FZ1073, a Boeing 737 carrying 174 passengers, including 27 children, landed safely at Tabuk Airport in northwestern Saudi Arabia after transmitting emergency signals that raised fears of a possible hijacking. Following situational assessments and testimony from passengers, Israel is treating the incident as a “full-fledged terrorist attack,” reported Israeli journalist Amit Segal.

Zionism is rooted in a story thousands of years old—a connection between the Jewish people, their heritage, and the land of Israel. As Chaim Herzog reminds us, modern Zionism did not emerge in a vacuum. It gave political expression to an enduring element of Jewish history and identity.

On September 29–30, 1941, Nazi forces and their collaborators murdered 33,771 Jewish men, women and children at Babyn Yar outside Kyiv—one of the largest single massacres of the Holocaust. They were stripped of their possessions, forced into a ravine and shot simply because they were Jews. Today, we remember the lives stolen at Babyn Yar and recommit ourselves to confronting antisemitism wherever it appears. Memory is not passive. It demands vigilance, courage and action. May their memories be a blessing.

The State Board of Administration of Florida and the National Center for Public Policy Research filed the suit in New York County Supreme Court. They ask a judge to force the Times to hand over documents, the majority about coverage of the Israel-Hamas war, that it has delayed for four months. The suit also includes whistleblower testimony from a Jewish former employee, who says that she raised concerns about Jew-hatred in the paper on at least 15 occasions from 2019 until her departure in 2026.

The ruling, issued by Federal Judge Daniel Rafecas, targets the prime suspects who remain at large three decades after the attack on the AMIA Jewish community center, which killed 85 people and injured more than 300. The Argentinian court found that the attack, which it described as “a crime against humanity,” was ordered by the highest echelons of the Iranian regime and was carried out by the Lebanese Hezbollah terrorist group, which serves as the Islamic Republic’s proxy.

More than 5,600 miles separate Binyamin in Samaria from Belleville, Ontario—but this Yom Kippur, both were touched by violence as Jewish communities prepared to observe their holiest day. In Binyamin, a father of six was murdered in a terrorist attack. In Belleville, a police officer guarding a synagogue was shot as worshippers gathered. In this episode of CUFI Weekly, we ask why Jews around the world still face danger simply for gathering to worship—and confront an uncomfortable reality: some of today’s antisemitism is coming from those who call themselves Christians. Jesus commanded us to love our neighbors. What happened to loving our neighbors? https://lnkd.in/etVwYQgy

On October 7, Hamas massacred families and took hostages. By October 8, Israel was already facing accusations of genocide. The timeline matters. Look how that narrative spread while Israel was still confronting the aftermath of the attack. Watch. Know the facts. Refuse to let October 7 be erased.#GazaGenoLIE

Israel honors those who gave everything in her defense. In Lavi Forest near the Golani Junction, a cornerstone has been laid for a memorial dedicated to fallen members of Israel’s Arabic-speaking Christian community. Their courage reflects a powerful truth: Israel’s Christian citizens are not outsiders to the nation’s story—they are part of its strength, its sacrifice and its future. May their memories always be honor

This week on CUFI Weekly, we mark the anniversaries of the Abraham Accords and Camp David to examine what peace demands: courage, leadership, and a willingness to reject hatred. From Anwar Sadat’s assassination after choosing peace with Israel to Mahsa Amini’s death under Iran’s oppressive regime, we confront the forces that punish courage and crush freedom. History leaves us with a choice: stand with those building a future of peace, or allow those who destroy it to prevail. https://lnkd.in/eXbm5VZb

For the second year in a row, the United States has denied Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’s application for an entry visa to speak next week at the UN General Assembly, US and Palestinian officials told The Times of Israel. Abbas’s office was notified of the decision on Wednesday, with similar rejections issued to dozens of other PA officials who were hoping to travel with him, a Palestinian official said.

Israel has opened its first embassy in Slovenia, deepening ties with the Alpine EU member as a growing number of European governments turn against the Jewish state and push for increasingly hostile diplomatic measures. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar travelled to Ljubljana, the Slovenian capital, on Wednesday to inaugurate the country’s first-ever Israeli embassy, calling the opening a “historic day” and praising Slovenia for its friendship and growing ties with Israel.

Antisemitism has repeatedly disguised itself as theology, politics and conspiracy. The language changes, but the scapegoat remains the same. Scripture is clear: “God has not rejected His people” (Romans 11:2). The Church has not replaced Israel, and God has not abandoned His covenant with the Jewish people. Christians must reject false doctrine, confront antisemitism wherever it appears and stand firmly with Israel and the Jewish people.
